PERSONAL PRONOUNS
In Ukrainian there are eight personal pronouns, five singular and three plural. 3rd person singular pronouns ВІН, ВОНА, and ВОНО are distinguished by the gender and can denote animate and inanimate objects.
2nd person singular pronoun ТИ is a familiar form and is used to address a relative, close friend or child. The 2nd plural form ВИ can be used to address a group of people or one person as a sign of respect. In correspondence, the pronoun ВИ could be capitalized as a sign of respect as well. Other pronouns, including the pronoun Я, are not capitalized unless they are used at the beginning of the sentence.
Here are the declension forms of the personal pronouns:
| Nom | Gen |
Dat |
Acc |
Inst |
Loc |
Я |
МЕНЕ |
МЕНІ |

МНОЮ |
(НА) МЕНІ |
Note that all 3rd person pronouns in the Genitive and Accusative cases if used after a preposition have slightly different forms with the consonant added to the pronoun.
